Membership Categories

ICDFA membership category is a testament to your level of competence, knowledge, and impact in your profession or workplace. It affirms the quality and depth of your professional capability to workmates, clients, and potential employers.
There are different membership categories for different levels of experience for people working in the Development Finance profession, from a Student Member building their skills for the future to a Fellow who has a proven record of Development Finance work experience and support for the development of the profession.

Student Members

A Student Member is a person who has been registered and enrolled to sit the Institute’s examinations under the Professional Diploma Programme.
Holders of any of the following qualifications are eligible to apply to write the Institute’s Professional Diploma Examination as Student Members:

(a) a recognised Bachelor’s Degree;
(b) a recognised Master’s Degree;
(c) a recognised Graduate Diploma; or
(d) any other professional qualification recognised by the Institute.

Chartered Professional Member

A person shall be qualified for enrolment as a Chartered Development Finance Analyst if that person:

(a) has successfully passed the prescribed Professional Diploma programme conducted by the Institute;
(b) possesses a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant working experience in development banking, finance, or a related field;
(c) holds a middle-level management position, or its equivalent, within their organisation; and
(d) satisfies any other conditions as the Council may, from time to time, determine.

Fellow

A person may be qualified to be enrolled as a Fellow of the Institute if that person has acquired at least ten (10) years of practical experience in development finance practice and has made a significant contribution towards the improvement of the status of the Institute and Development Finance.
